Probably too late to suggest this as the Fourth of July is now upon us, but if flyers could be printed & distributed around town, it would let visiting alumni know that these are available if they are interested in one. I'm certain that flyers could be left at Piggott City Hall & the Piggott Chamber of Commerce office. Sharon Bellers is the current chamber secretary. She is very friendly & I would think that she would be very willing to assist in this endeavor. Perhaps, the Piggott Times would allow an article to be printed as a news article ( so no payment would be required) notifying the public that these are available & the purpose of the sale of these commemorative mugs. Too bad it could not have been in this week's edition of The Piggott Times when so many alumni will be in town. And, possibly, if the American Legion & VFW would allow this w/o any fee, it might be possible to sell these from the porches of the American Legion building as nothing can be sold on the picnic grounds w/o a fee being paid to the Piggott Cemetary Assn., or, at least, that is my understanding. Of course, people have to be willing to volunteer their time on that date so it may be difficult to get volunteers as that is a busy time for many as it is an annual homecoming as well as a picnic.

Just some thoughts even though late.

There should be a notice about the selling of the mugs and contact persons in the Piggott Times this week. Signs have been put in various locations in Piggott with the contacts listed. Freddie has been kind enough to keep a supply of mugs in his office to make it convenient for people to pick up. We have had invitations from 4 class reunions to set up and sell the mugs. Anyone who wants to help with this can contact piggottclassof70@yahoo.com These reunions are on the 3rd and the 5th. We have had more declines than acceptances from classmates. So far, there are only 4 classmates who have agreed to work. We also hope to have enough mugs to offer them at the Pollard School reunion. Hopefully another order of mugs will not be out of line for future sells.

I don't mind to help on the 3rd & 5th w/ the sales. As far as I know at this moment, I have no other commitments. Our family will do our 4th thing on the 4th. For Campbell, I would prefer to ride with someone if they don't mind me doing so.

I don't know if I'll be here at the time of the Pollard School Reunion as Mom is wanting us to go to Mt. View that weekend & possibly on to Petit Jean as our oldest grandson is having a Boy Scout camping trip there that weekend & there are other activities that involve other family members. My daughter's entire family is going there that weekend. If the green beans are ready to be canned that weekend, we'll not be going but I may not be available due to that depending upon how involved Mom & Aunt Zora love have me in it & depending on the amount of green beans to be picked, strung, broken, washed , & canned. If I end up being around, I won't mind to help with sales at that event either.

I may need a reminder re these events since I haven't been planning them for a few days.

Hope this results in being a real money maker for the cholarship fund.
I haven't seen any of the signs in any of the businesses where I've been lately but then I don't go in many of them. I haven't noticed any in the windows & I walk to Subway every evening & around the court square. I may have overlooked them since I wasn't looking for them. It is good that an article is to possibly be printed in the Times this week. My thinking has been a little slow for the past month or so for some unknown reason so was late with my suggestions.

Well, if there is a problem with getting volunteers on the 3rd & 5th, it would be next to impossible to get any on the 4th then. I wouldn't mind doing it, but my daughter's family usually spends the day here & it's an annual event for us at this point & don't get to do these type of activities with my daughter & the grandchildren nearly as much as I would like to do. Seems like the grandchildren are growing so fast & are going to be grown before we know it. The oldest is already 9yo. So he is already at the halfway mark to being 18yo. And, of course, I don't know what they will want to do when they get to be teenagers & may want to do activities with their friends.
