I had it all planned in my head
And knew exactly what I would do.
I bought a flower to plant in my garden,
To watch it grow and bloom.
I wanted it to remind me of Jimmy
I wanted it to remind me of Jimmy
Although I won't forget him soon.
I shopped 'til I had the right flower
A Crepe Myrtle that would last
A Crepe Myrtle that would last
It would not die by the hour
And hopefully would grow real fast.
And hopefully would grow real fast.
The pot was big and wide
The plant dwarfed by size.
But putting that all aside
But putting that all aside
I felt it was my joy and a prize.
I planted it with loving care
Oh, the rich dirt that I used,
Memories of Jimmy we'll share
And they will not be abused.
Now, from year to year,
I will watch my flower grow
And as I shed a tear,
I hope that Jimmy will know
I do not need the flower
I'll honor him in my heart,
I will watch my flower grow
And as I shed a tear,
I hope that Jimmy will know
I do not need the flower
I'll honor him in my heart,
But it's growing by the hour
And remembering him is my part.

And remembering him is my part.

HEAVEN
God saw that he was getting tired
and a cure was not to be, so
He put his arms around him and whispered
“Come home with me”.
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
Golden hearts stopped beating
Determined spirits were at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Great memories and in the spirit of honor:
Great memories and in the spirit of honor:
Haiku for Jimmy
I shall remember from childhood's panorama
I shall remember from childhood's panorama
Your kindness, your smile.
Be at peace.
